This is one of the books of his i had the pleasure of reading before it was made into a movie. The idea in this story that love, recovering from a broken heart, finding love again and loss at an older age is one of things that inspired me to become a writer. I wish there was more stories of his like this that did not involve kids as the main characters. I really enjoy Nicholas Sparks depiction of the older, more mature age group and what their lives are like. As a Male writer in the same genre to be a male and write romance can be hard and not respected as well as it should.
